THE scores universities on Teaching (29.5%), Research Environment (29%), Research Quality (30%), International Outlook (7.5%), and Industry (4%). Research Quality is now the largest single component, reflecting THE’s shift toward citation-based metrics. Institutions strong in medical/health sciences benefit disproportionately — medical research produces high-citation papers that lift the overall citation score.
